Gracenote Wins Sony Ericsson Content Award

Emeryville, California, 18 December 2007 -- Sony Ericsson today announced that Gracenote won the 2007 Sony Ericsson Content Award. The award's jury of content industry professionals selected Gracenote as the year's best music and audio mobile content based on ease-of-use, entertainment, innovation, functionality, and performance.

Gracenote's Mobile MusicID®, known as TrackID in the Walkman phone line, is built upon the industry standard for digital music identification, Gracenote MusicID®. The technology allows consumers to simply hold up their phone anywhere music is playing -- in a bar, at a party, or on the radio -- to have a clip of the music matched to Gracenote's global database of audio fingerprints and music information. Once the song is identified, Gracenote connects the user to related content for hearing, viewing, and purchase. Music fans get fast access to ring tones, full tracks, videos, and all the content that makes mobile music fun.

The judges said, "Based on innovative thinking. TrackID is the service that delivers right there, right when you need it. It's well integrated into the mobile phone, easy to use and amazingly accurate."

Along with the Music and Audio category, Sony Ericsson announced the winners for the year's best mobile content in gaming, imaging, productivity mobility, and themes and graphics.
